The Machiah Fellowship program was established in 2005 in recognition of political factors that limited opportunities for Israeli scientists to obtain funds to support further research training abroad.
 
The Machiah Foundation is pleased to have supported many promising Israeli scientists as they obtain critical post-doctoral training at leading universities and research institutions in the United States. Since 2005, the Foundation, with support from other individuals and foundations, has awarded more than $3.3 million in fellowships to 40 outstanding Israeli fellowship applicants.  At this time, however, the Foundation has decided to discontinue its Fellowship program, effective immediately.
