Meet Up in Israel this May 2015!

Congregation Kol Shofar presents the Bay Area community an opportunity to meet up in Israel this summer
This trip is an experiment to encourage Congregation Kol Shofar members and the broader community to join together in Israel for a meet up that offers maximum flexibility and customization. Congregation Kol Shofar membership is not required, but we ask that you are referred through a Kol Shofar member or Federation contact. You need not be a donor or a member.
The San Francisco-based Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund is proud to collaborate with Congregation Kol Shofar on its Israel trip, introducing the participants to the Federation’s Israeli partners, who are working with our Bay Area Jewish community to build a civil and just society in Israel.
Daily activities begin on May 12, 2015 and conclude on May 19, 2015. Everyone is encouraged to join on Sunday, May 17 for Yom Yerushalyam (Unification of Jerusalem Day).

More information about the tracks you may choose from during the meet-up:
- Hiking and archeology: day trips either in Jerusalem or nearby.
- Hikes are rated "regular" in difficulty with some ascending of hills. Not recommended for families with small children.
- Special programs in Trauma and Medical Services as alternatives to May 18 and 19 hikes: day trips to Tel Aviv to visit Selah and Natal NGO’s dealing with trauma and the IDF Casualty Division and visits to The Israel Center for the Treatment of Psychotrauma (ICTP) in Hertzog Hospital, Jerusalem.
- Special speakers will be planned for Friday night and Shabbat.
- A special program for Yom Yerushalyam.
- Pick up/drop off will be in front of Windows of Jerusalem on 40 Agripa Street each morning.
- There will be security/medic that we will include for all outdoor activities in nature areas in addition to the transportation, bus driver, and entrance fees. Unless otherwise indicated, food will be no host.
