Social Media Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing, the Social Media Coordinator (SMC) will be responsible for implementing JCF’s social media strategy, driving online interaction, moderating conversations, and using social media channels to educate and attract current and new users. She/he will be creative and proactive in mining the organization’s events, programs, and relevant news for interesting and relatable content with the goal of attracting followers/fans to initiate and engage in dialogue and/or promote ideas and topics. The SMC will also serve as an in-house point of contact for projects that involve social media, including regular coverage of Federation events using photo, video, audio and related recording and documentation tools. The SMC will manage the scheduling, production, distribution and analytics of email marketing campaigns for internal departments, as well as all tasks related to the production, maintenance, and reporting for online event registration pages. The SMC will execute production tasks and updates for our website, blog and social media channels.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Attend Federation events and generate content by shooting video, taking photos, and conducting short interviews with attendees and participants
  • Post unique content to JCF’s social networking sites (Blog, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+)
  • Work closely with marketing to implement social media strategy, ensuring brand messaging is consistent across social channels
  • Curate relevant content from external sites to share with our communities
  • Write, edit and post content for JCF’s website, blogs, and surveys
  • Create, manage and report on online event registration and ticketing pages (Eventbrite and Blackbaud Spark)
  • Schedule, create, edit, and deploy all e-mail based marketing for several departments (Constant Contact and Blackbaud Spark)
  • Manage dashboard systems (Hootsuite) that support efficient social media functionality
  • Handle simultaneous web administrative functions, such as newsletter preferences, moderating user-generated content, user feedback and trouble-shooting
  • Provide guidance and resources for departmental social media administrators, including presentations and written documentation
  • Edit and update content for JCF’s website using our content management system (Drupal)
  • Establish effective benchmarks/goals to measure the impact of social media programs and report on effectiveness of campaigns
  • Other duties as assigned
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1-3 years of experience in running social media campaigns and online marketing, preferably with a degree in communications, marketing, or journalism
  • Excellent writing/editing skills, particularly in regards to social media and other online channels
  • General knowledge of HTML and CSS, and experience formatting HTML e-mail marketing templates highly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience using a variety of social media platforms and efficiency tools, including Facebook, Twitter, online video & podcasting channels
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop and related video/audio software tools highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Dreamweaver or similar HTML editor desirable
  • Interest in staying current with social, digital and other media technologies
  • Creative and flexible, but also organized and systematic. Able to juggle multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Good communicator; able to work effectively with a variety of passionate people in a fast-paced environment
  • Independent worker, self-directed go-getter
  • Sense of humor highly desirable
  • Nonprofit experience and familiarity with Jewish holidays, traditions and customs is a plus
