Event Host: Jennifer Gorovitz, CEO, Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund. Jennifer is leading the work to transform the organization's fundraising and grantmaking efforts to be more focused, strategic, and effective, and offering donors, for the first time in Federation history, the opportunity to designate a portion of their giving to a specific area of community need. Jennifer is the first woman CEO among the largest 20 Federations in North America, and last year was included in The Jewish Daily's "Forward 50" annual list of the top 50 men and women who have made a significant impact in the Jewish community.
Daniel Lurie, CEO and Founder, Tipping Point. Before founding Tipping Point in 2005, Daniel worked for the Bill Bradley Presidential Campaign, Accenture Consulting and the Robin Hood Foundation in New York City. September 11th 2001 fell within Daniel’s first week of work at Robin Hood and he was humbled to witness Robin Hood’s relief efforts to lift up the city once more. Daniel used his time in graduate school to adapt the organization’s model to fit his home community, the Bay Area. Daniel earned a BA in Political Science from Duke University and received his Masters in Public Policy from the Goldman School at UC Berkeley.
Heather McLeod Grant, Senior Consultant at The Monitor Institute and co-author of Forces for Good: The Six Practices of High-Impact Nonprofits (Wiley, 2008), named a Top Ten Book of 2007 by the Economist. Heather also serves as an advisor to the Center for Social Innovation at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business, and the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
Carla Javits, President of Roberts Development Fund. REDF helps to create and grow 'double bottom line' enterprises that earn income while employing people with high barriers. Carla also oversees REDF's efforts to build the field by broadly sharing the results of its extensive, multi-year effort to measure outcomes that demonstrate the effectiveness of social enterprise in helping people with histories of incarceration, homelessness, and/or limited education to successfully retain employment.
Adin Miller, Senior Director of Community Impact and Innovations, Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund. Adin's work focuses on maximizing the JCF's efforts to generate measurable impact and progress on the community level, defining and developing metrics to document impact, and increasing the visibility of the organization.
Kate Robinson, Founder and Director of FSP Creative Advocacy. A skilled facilitator, strategist, and advocate, Kate has worked in the non-profit sector for over a decade specializing in coalition building for public policy development and implementation. She is the former Director of Strategic Initiatives for Social Solutions Global, Inc. and the former Executive Director of the Consumer Health Coalition where she coordinated a state-wide campaign to increase the effectiveness of Pennsylvania Medicaid programs.
