Project Homeless Connect is a national best practice model that originated in San Francisco. Every other month, over 1,000 community volunteers partner with the City of San Francisco, non-profit organizations, and the private sector of provide an one-stop shop of health and human services for homeless San Franciscans. Jewish Volunteer Day volunteers are place where they are most needed – as client escorts, providing food packages, completing satisfaction surveys with clients, or engaging in specialized services with clients. Register online to participate in Project Homeless Day Connect. If you have are specialized in medical, dental, or legal services and are interested in volunteering please contact Laurene Bounaud directly.
Hygiene Kit and Blanket Drive
In addition to the Jewish Volunteer Day at Project Homeless Connect, we are coordinating a blanket and hygiene kit drive.
Hygiene kit information
- We need unused and unopened toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand soap, shampoo bottles, and conditioner bottles (all need to be 4 ounces or smaller)
- All donations must be delivered by December 6
- Drop off locations at JCRC (121 Steuart Street, San Francisco) or Brandeis Hillel Day School (655 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco)
Blanket drive information
- We need clean, warm blankets
