The Grief and Growing weekend takes place within the beautiful natural setting of Camp Newman in Santa Rosa and is filled with specialized workshops and activities designed to help individuals and families attend to their losses and identify tools to help them in their mourning. The weekend co-sponsored by the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center, Bureau of Jewish Education and Sinai Memorial Chapel is designed for grief over the death of a person.
The weekend is filled with participants of all ages, from across the spectrum of both Jewish and non-Jewish identities. While Jewish programming is integrated throughout the weekend in both formal and informal ways, both Jewish and non-Jewish participants as well as all genders and types of families are warmly welcomed.
In understanding that many people in our community grapple with issues of affordability it is our goal is to not let a lack of money keep someone who is interested from attending this weekend to participate. We have multiple financial options to provide assistance including specific FederationLGBT subsidized scholarship program dollars to augment all of our financial assistance options. Please contact the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center directly with questions regarding the Grief and Growing weekend.
