On Sunday, August 5, 2012, young Jewish adults from all over the Bay Area will come together for the second annual community service day event, known as DOVsf (Day of Volunteering, San Francisco)!

Spend the morning with fellow young Jewish adults as you lend a hand to one of these local charitable organizations:

• Alemany Farm, located in Bernal Heights (12 pm - 3:30 pm) Spend the day outside gardening. Optional lunch available.
• Bayview Mission, located between Portrero Hill and Silver Terrace (10 am - 1 pm) Help garden, make goodie bags for children and seniors and enjoy a lunch at the end of your volunteer shift.
• Glide Foundation, located downtown (11:30 am - 2 pm) Prepare and serve food to the less fortunate.
• Jewish Healing Center, located in the Richmond (11 am - 1 pm) Make collages and cards for individuals who are in the hospitals during the High Holy Days. Enjoy a pizza lunch at the end of your volunteer shift.
• Jewish Home, located between Bernal Heights and Mission Terrace (10 am - 11:30 am) Meet the residents, play games and have meaningful conversations. *LOCATION HAS REACHED CAPACITY*
• San Francisco Food Bank, located in Portrero Hill (9 am - 11 am) Work together to serve food and be a friendly face for those who are less fortunate.
• Surfrider, clean ups held along Ocean Beach (10 am - 12 pm) Help to clean our beaches and track what kind of debris is most seen washed up on shore or left at the beach. Learn why it is so important to keep our oceans trash-free.
