Featured Speaker: Paul N. Frimmer
Partner, Loeb & Loeb LLP
Paul Frimmer specializes in estate planning, wills and trusts, probate and trust administration, postmortem tax planning, probate litigation, art law, charitable giving and tax issues relating to these matters.  Frimmer has authored and co-authored more than 50 publications on estate planning and related areas. He is also a frequent speaker at national and local estate planning seminars and institutes.
 
Among his many distinctions, Frimmer received highest ranking in Chambers USA 2011 and 2012, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in both National Wealth Management: Western Region and California Tax: Estate Planning; highest AV Preeminent professional rating in Matindale-Hubbell Law Directory; and Best Lawyer in Trusts and Estates, Trust and Estate Litigation, Tax Law and Non-Profit/Charities Law in The Best Lawyers in America.

The Jewish Community Federation is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider. Continuing professional education for 3 hours is pending for  Attorneys, Certified Public Accountants, Public Accountants, Certified Financial Planners, and CLU® Life Agent insurance professionals.

Community Luncheon honoring past JCF President Ron Kaufman and Keynote Address by Ambassador Dennis Ross

Ron Kaufman

Honoree: Ron Kaufman
Ron Kaufman has served JCF continuously since 1959 in various capacities, including serving as President from 1984-1986.  Ron currently serves on the Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors, and among his significant past leadership, he has worked on every annual campaign since 1959, served as Chair of the Overseas Committee, leading to the opening of JCF’s Israel office, served as Chair of the Committee on Needs of the Elderly, which led to the establishment of Menorah Park, and is a long-term member of the Endowment Committee.  Ron has also served the broader Bay Area community with leadership in both Jewish and non-Jewish civic organizations and non-profits.

On a national level Ron's service has included positions on the Board – and an officer for - the Council of Jewish Federations (UJC); the United Jewish Appeal; Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, and the United Israel Appeal.  He was a co-founder and first vice president of the National Association of Jewish Family and Children's Agencies.  In Israel he served on the Board of Governors of the Jewish Agency.  Ron has been very active participant in the JCF Amuta; and was a board member of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs.
 
Ron has been active in San Francisco real estate since 1959 and has specialized in the preservation and reuse of former industrial buildings, including in the North Waterfront, South of Market and the eastern end of Market Street.  He married his wife, Barbara, in 1955 and they have three adult children: Steve Kaufman, Karen Kaufman Perlman (Brian Perlman), Nirmada Kaufman; and 4 grandchildren.

The Election is Over: What Lies Ahead For U.S. Middle East Policy?
For the past twelve years Ambassador Ross has played a leading role in shaping U.S. involvement in the Middle East peace process and dealing directly with the parties in negotiations. A highly skilled diplomat and scholar, Ambassador Ross led the peace process during both the George H.W. Bush and Clinton administrations and is the author of several influential books on the peace process. He most recently served as special assistant to President Obama and National Security Council senior director for the Central Region, as well as special advisor to Secretary of State Clinton. In December 2011, Ambassador Ross rejoined the Washington Institute for Near East Policy as counselor.
