Experience Israel from the Seat of Your Bicycle
The Israel Ride is an incredible opportunity for you to experience the beauty of Israel from the saddle of a bike. The Israel Ride will take you from Jerusalem to Eilat – with riding routes of 200 - 300 miles - over five days. Participants head west through the hills of the Jerusalem forest and descend to the Mediterranean Sea, then climb up into the Negev and ride to Mitzpe Ramon – where participants will enjoy a restful Shabbat.
The Ride will continue through the Negev to the Arava Institute on Kibbutz Ketura. On the final day the route will follow along the Egyptian border through beautiful desert mountains and conclude with a breathtaking descent into Eilat. The Israel Ride ends with a swim in the Red Sea and a celebratory final dinner.
Ride features:
- A week-long trip: five riding days, orientation in Jerusalem, and Shabbat in Mitzpe Ramon
- Fundraising commitment in support of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and Hazon
- Varied and diverse community of all backgrounds, ages, religious levels and knowledge of Israel
- Multiple riding routes for cyclists of all levels
- Shomrim ride until lunch, and spend the afternoon touring. 175 miles total (35/day)
- Tzofim ride a direct route each day from hotel to hotel. 275 miles total (55/day)
- Chalutzim ride extended routes with extra climbing. Over 300 miles total (65/day)
- Fully supported with rest stops, all meals, hotels, and luggage transport
- On route education on environmental issues, history, and geography
