Celebrate the 3rd Annual Harvey Milk Day!
Honor the memory and birthday of one of our most globally recognized San Francisco Gay Jewish leaders with your own messages of hope!
Sunday, May 22, 2011 - All Day
LGBT Alliance of the Jewish Community Federation • 121 Steuart Street, San Francisco (Map)

Perhaps more than any other modern figure, Harvey Milk's life and political career embody the rise of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights movement. For the second year, Harvey Milk Day (SB 572) is intendeds to encourage the state of California to honor his memory via educational commemorative exercises on or near May 22.

Celebrate the 3rd Annual Harvey Milk Day by sharing your story and you will change both hearts and minds towards greater awareness of your life, your experience and the experiences of your family. Harvey Milk z"l insisted that the only way we will gain true equality is for all people and all of our allies to share their stories.

The Federation's LGBT Alliance asks you to honor this annual day by telling your story to a neighbor, a stranger or a family member. We ask that you tell your congregation with a drash on the bima, a blog post or a letter in your congregations newsletter!
