INTRODUCTION
The Jewish Community Federation (JCF, ‘Federation’) works to protect and enhance Jewish life in our local community as well as in Israel and other Jewish communities. This is done through fundraising, strategic planning and providing funding to programs that care for those in need and/or strengthen and secure the safety of the Jewish people.
The Young Adult Division (YAD) of JCF offers young Jewish adults (ages 21-40ish) a broad range of social, educational, outreach, philanthropic and leadership development activities. The primary focus of YAD is to develop a vigorous and vibrant local community of young Jewish adults, to engage and develop future volunteer leaders, and to raise funds to support the neediest within the local and international Jewish community.
YAD Board: The Board is composed of an Executive Committee (EC) and general board members. Each board member is a volunteer leader of YAD, representing the Jewish Community Federation, and is expected to engender enthusiasm about the importance of YAD’s work and its impact in the community. Board Members partner with Federation staff in order to plan and carry out YAD events and will be trained to raise funds for the JCF.
The YAD board experience serves to build a community of leaders working together to cultivate connections across the young adult Jewish community and to the Federation and its beneficiary agencies. The experience will provide you with an opportunity to cultivate friendships, to build community and to develop your leadership skills and volunteer experiences in a Jewish context.
