Donor Choice: How it Works
You can decide to let the Federation apply your gift to where it’s needed most, or you can designate a portion of your gift to an area of need that is especially meaningful to you. If you increase your gift compared to what you gave last year, you can designate 100% of that increase to one or more of the four funds which help support a thriving community. If you decide to give the same amount you gave last year, you can designate 25% of your gift amount to one or more of the four funds. It’s that simple.
Of course, we will continue to provide expertise and services to Legacy donors, donor advised fund holders, and others who seek multiple avenues for their philanthropy.
The four funds are:
-
Community Core Fund: Ensuring a thriving community by caring for the vulnerable, promoting Jewish culture, and strengthening education and identity.
-
Israel and Global Fund: Strengthening Israel by advancing social justice and equal opportunity; and providing for Jews in need worldwide.
-
Bay Area Initiatives Fund: Addressing current community-wide challenges through targeted initiatives.
-
Innovation Fund: Seed-funding innovative projects in emerging and traditional Jewish organizations.
