Generational Philanthropy

“As my ancestors planted for me, so I plant for my children”
-
Ta’anit 23a

Next Generation and Intergenerational Philanthropy are vital to the future and stability of our Jewish community, here and around the world.

The Jewish Community Endowment Fund’s professional team has expertise in Youth Philanthropy and provides Next Gen consultancies tailored to the needs of individuals and families. Group and individual consultations are conducted with and eye to transferring values and helping the next generation develop their philanthropic passion and skill.

Nationwide, JCEF is in the forefront of Next Gen philanthropy and provides models for next gen inclusion and engagement in family philanthropy:

  • Young Funders’ Forum, a networking, skill building, and philanthropic education program for emerging Jewish philanthropists in their 20s-40s.
  • Leadership Development, including training for Board leadership, mentoring, and connection to leadership opportunities.
  • Financial literacy training through Foundation Board involvement and workshops. Contact leadership@sfjcf.org for more information.
  • Teen Foundations, regional teen boards that provide leadership training, study Jewish and general community needs, develop mission statements, fundraise and engage in strategic grantmaking.
  • The Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards and the Diller Teen Fellows program that provide opportunities for leadership, community service, Israel engagement, and Jewish education for teens.
