Anne and Robert Cowan Writer's Prize 2021-22 Nomination Form

The Cowan Writer’s Prize recognizes and awards writers who have made an exceptional contribution to literary arts through a Jewish perspective. Awardees must be emerging writers who have published work (novel, short story, creative non-fiction, memoir, graphic novel, or another hybrid form), and who:

•    Reside in the greater San Francisco Bay Area
•    Are considered exceptionally gifted by their peers and readers
•    Write with a high degree of creativity and intelligence
•    Engage thoughtfully with Jewish themes in their work

The Cowan Prize includes a grant of $5,000 awarded to the nominee who best exemplifies these qualities.

Submission deadline is January 17, 2022. Submissions are reviewed as received. Self-nominations are encouraged! A winner will be announced in June 2022. Please contact Alan Brody with questions.
